North Bay Regional Center provides various support for special needs children including early intervention, respite care and behavioral services.  Dale Carr will assist you with your intake needs.  707-256-1140. http://www.nbrc.net/

MATRIX:  Non-profit organization that provides information, education and emotional support to parents of children with special needs.  Matrix has parent advisors on staff to assist you with IEP questions and concerns.  Chris Allen can be reached at 707-423-2545 X101. http://www.matrixparents.org/

Early Intervention Services:

Pediatric Occupational Therapy (TriCare Provider):  Children's Therapy Works is located in Fairfield, approximately 15 minutes from the front gate.  Tina Blythe can be reached at 707-330-6949.  Please call for referrel and appointment information.

Physical Therapy (TriCare Providers):  There are 3 local providers (alphabetically listed), please call to discuss your specific needs.

  2. Julie Miller Physical Therapy:  Located in Fairfield, approx. 15 minutes.  Specializing in Pediatric PT. 707-290-8489.
  3. Mahaan Rehab Services:  Located in Fairfield, approx. 15 minutes from base.  Specializing in Cranial Sacral Therapy and Joint Mobilization techniques. 707-718-0151 

Speech Therapy (TriCare Providers): Jewett and Associates, Inc. Located in Fairfield and Concord, CA. 925-672-3440.  Please call Sue Tonarelli, EFMP-FS for any updates on additional providers working to be TriCare affiliated.

Developmental and Neuro-Psychoeducation Evaluation/Assessment and Intervention: Complete evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults from a TriCare provider who takes monthly appointments on base.  For additional information and more info, call Dr. Peggie Simler at 559-314-4696.

Autism Demonstration Project (ABA Providers):  If your child is eligible for the Autism Demo Project through TriCare ECHO, there are several options for in-home ABA services (listed alphabetically below).  If you are unsure about eligiblity and enrollment, please call Sue Tonarelli at the Travis AFRC, 707-424-2486:

There is a local Down syndrome support group that meets monthly at the Children's Nurturing Project.  We typically meet once a month, the first Saturday of every month from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Please contact Sue Tonarelli, who recently completed training on the ASQ developmental screening program, for more information on the Ages and Stages Questionnaires available for your children.  The ASQ program indentifies children 5 and younger with potential developmental, social and emotional delays.  Visit the Ages and Stages website by clicking on the ASQ image.
